RIYADH, May 26, 2025 – A significant milestone was achieved today as our company’s highly anticipated bus shelter project officially commenced operations in Saudi Arabia. The launch, which took place in key urban areas across major Saudi cities including Riyadh and Jeddah, marks our company’s first large-scale infrastructure deployment in the Middle Eastern market, bringing cutting-edge public transit facilities tailored to the region’s unique climate and urban needs.
The project features two distinct bus shelter models, each designed to cater to different passenger volumes and urban scenarios while prioritizing comfort, functionality, and durability.
The first model, a 11-meter-long shelter with an enclosed waiting area, stands out as a game-changer for public transit comfort in Saudi Arabia’s hot and arid climate. Equipped with a high-efficiency air conditioning system, the enclosed space maintains a cool and pleasant temperature even during the peak summer months when outdoor temperatures often exceed 45°C. To enhance convenience and security, the shelter is fitted with semi-automatic doors that open smoothly in response to passenger movement, minimizing heat ingress while ensuring easy access. Additionally, it integrates 24/7 surveillance cameras to safeguard passenger safety and deter potential security risks, along with a user-friendly automatic ticket vending machine that allows commuters to purchase tickets quickly without queuing. A large LED display screen mounted on the shelter’s exterior and interior provides real-time bus arrival and departure information, weather updates, and important public announcements, keeping passengers well-informed at all times.
The second model, a 5-meter-long open-air shelter, is optimized for areas with moderate passenger flow, such as residential neighborhoods and suburban transit stops. While maintaining an open design to promote natural ventilation, this shelter still delivers essential convenience features. It is equipped with a compact yet efficient automatic ticket vending machine and a clear LED display screen that shares the same real-time transit information as the enclosed model. The open structure is crafted from high-quality, weather-resistant materials to withstand Saudi Arabia’s strong sunlight, occasional sandstorms, and high humidity, ensuring long-term reliability with minimal maintenance.
Both shelter models are constructed using corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy and high-strength tempered glass, materials selected specifically to endure the region’s harsh environmental conditions—including intense UV radiation, sand erosion, and extreme temperature fluctuations. The design also incorporates localized elements, such as heat-reflective coatings on external surfaces and wind-resistant structural frames, to further enhance performance in the Saudi context.
Local government officials and transit authorities expressed strong satisfaction with the newly launched shelters during the opening ceremony. “These bus shelters represent a significant upgrade to our public transportation infrastructure,” said a representative from Riyadh’s Municipal Transportation Authority. “The enclosed model, in particular, addresses a long-standing need for comfortable waiting spaces in our hot climate, while the open-air version offers practicality for smaller communities. We are impressed by the attention to detail and the way the designs align with our city’s development goals.”
Our company’s Middle East Regional Director commented on the project’s significance, stating, “Launching this bus shelter project in Saudi Arabia is more than just a business achievement—it’s a testament to our commitment to creating infrastructure solutions that adapt to local needs. We spent over a year conducting research on Saudi Arabia’s climate, urban planning policies, and passenger habits to develop these two models, and we’re proud to see them now serving commuters across the country.”
Looking ahead, our company plans to closely monitor the performance of the launched shelters, collecting feedback from passengers and local transit authorities to make further optimizations. With the successful launch of this project, we also aim to expand our presence in the Middle Eastern market, exploring opportunities to collaborate with more countries in the region on public infrastructure projects that enhance the quality of urban life.
